Picture of Splice Box
In situations where a floor joist is required at the splice box position,
we suggest the following:
That the Sole plate to the steel beam top flange is bridged over the
splice box.
The new floor joist can then be hung from a long leg joist hanger
which is fixed to the sole plate. This can be achieved with a TECO joist
hanger, product type woody long leg.

approved.

See Fig 1 & Fig 2.

Where the new floor is required to run over the beam, incorporate a
floor joist at the splice box position and simply trim using joist hangers
off the adjacent joists.

See Fig 3.

To accommodate the Splice Box side wall, simply off set the Sole Plate
by 10 or 12mm from the top flange of the steel beam.
